Bertram and the 8-year-old gelding Empoli de Champloue (Arko (de) x Diamant de Semilly) took their first five-star Grand Prix victory in Riyadh yesterday.

The duo has been quite successful lately, finishing 2nd in the 1m50 and 7th in the 1m55 last week in Riyadh. Three weeks ago, Bertram guided Empoli de Champloue to victory in Saturdays 1m45 speed class at Sweden International Horse Show. When Bertram visited Riyadh for the GCT show in October, the chestnut gelding scored a fabulous runner-up finish in the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation Trophy 1.55m jump-off class.
